Safety first: Turn off the water supply and place the bypass valve in bypass. Depressurise by opening a tap.

Observe meter disc: With the cover removed, run water through the system (briefly taking it out of bypass). The meter disc should rotate. If it does not, return to bypass and proceed.
Clean meter port: Remove the meter module or access plug according to the service manual. Inspect for grit, scale, or foreign objects. Rinse thoroughly.
Check turbine and pawls: Ensure the turbine spins freely and that the pawls engage the control disc. Lightly clean with water; do not lubricate with oils.
Reassemble and test: Refit components, restore water, and confirm that the meter disc now rotates when water flows.
If still not moving: The meter assembly may be worn and require replacement.

Warning: Incorrect reassembly of the meter can cause leaks or mis‑metering. Follow Kinetico service diagrams carefully.

Kinetico non‑electric softener does not regenerate at all; meter disc does not move even when water is used.
