Salt Bridging
Salt forms a hard crust or bridge in the brine tank, with a hollow space underneath.

Possible Causes
High humidity environment, Using very fine or damp salt, Overfilling brine tank, Infrequent salt usage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Wear gloves and avoid excessive force that could crack the brine tank.
- Locate the bridge: Gently push a plastic or wooden rod down through the salt. If you feel a hollow space before reaching water, a bridge is present.
- Break the bridge: Carefully tap and poke to break the crust so salt falls into the water below. Do not use metal tools that could puncture the tank.
- Remove clumps: Scoop out large, solidified chunks and discard. Refill with fresh, dry tablet or block salt recommended by Kinetico UK.
- Prevent recurrence: Keep the salt level between the minimum and maximum marks and store salt in a dry place.
Warning: Do not pour hot water into the brine tank to dissolve bridges; rapid temperature changes can deform the tank.
