Possible Causes
Incorrect hardness or capacity settings, Flow meter miscalibrated or double-counting, Control board programming error, Internal leak causing constant partial regeneration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No internal electrical work should be done with power connected.
- Verify programming: Check that water hardness, capacity, and reserve settings match your water test and Lindsay manual. Overstated hardness will cause too-frequent regenerations.
- Check meter function: With no water running, the display should show 0 flow. If it shows flow, the meter may be misreading due to electrical noise or a failing sensor.
- Inspect for internal leaks: Look for constant drain flow or brine tank water movement when the unit is in service. Internal bypass leaks can cause the controller to miscalculate usage.
- Reset meter calibration: If your Lindsay model allows, perform a meter calibration or reset per the service manual.
If E13 persists and settings are correct, replace the flow meter assembly or control board as indicated by diagnostics.
