Possible Causes
Stuck or damaged Lindsay brine safety float, Leaking brine valve not closing, Clogged brine line causing slow refill and mis-timing, Incorrect refill time setting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and close the inlet valve. Use caution when working around a full brine tank.
- Check float operation: Remove the brine well cover and lift the safety float up and down. It should move freely and shut off flow when raised. Clean any salt sludge from the float assembly.
- Inspect brine valve: Disconnect the brine line at the valve and check for continuous suction or flow when there should be none. A leaking internal brine valve or piston may need replacement.
- Clear brine line: Flush the brine line with warm water to remove salt plugs. Reconnect securely.
- Adjust refill settings: Verify the programmed brine refill time matches Lindsay specifications for your salt dosage. Excessive refill time can overfill the tank.
