Lindsay softener is noisy during regeneration (loud banging, whistling, or chattering)

Safety first: Turn off power before adjusting internal valve components.

• Check water pressure: Use a gauge on a nearby faucet. If pressure exceeds 80 psi, install or adjust a pressure-reducing valve.
• Secure plumbing: Strap and cushion copper or PEX lines near the softener to reduce vibration.
• Fully open valves: Ensure inlet and outlet shutoff valves are fully open to minimize turbulence.
• Inspect valve internals: If chattering persists, inspect the Lindsay piston and seals for wear or damage and replace as needed.
