Possible Causes

Worn O-rings between valve and tank, Cracked Lindsay valve body, Loose tank adapter, Damaged plumbing connections

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off water to the softener, depressurize the system, and unplug power before disassembly.

  • Identify leak source: Dry the area and observe where water first appears: at the tank/valve joint, side ports, or top cover.
  • Tighten connections: Gently tighten union nuts and fittings. Do not overtighten plastic parts.
  • Replace O-ring: If leaking at the tank/valve joint, remove the valve head, inspect the large tank O-ring, and replace with a new Lindsay tank O-ring lubricated with silicone grease.
  • Inspect for cracks: If the valve body is cracked, replace the entire Lindsay valve assembly.
