Brine tank does not refill with water after regeneration; salt remains dry

Safety first: Place the softener in bypass and unplug it before disassembling any valve components.

Step-by-step checks:

• 1. Verify inlet pressure and valves: Ensure the main supply and Marlo bypass are fully open and that system pressure is adequate.
• 2. Inspect brine line: Check for kinks, blockages, or closed valves in the brine line between the valve and brine tank.
• 3. Clean refill flow control: Remove the refill flow control from the valve or brine line. Soak in vinegar if scaled, then rinse and reinstall.
• 4. Test manual refill: Temporarily disconnect the brine line at the valve and briefly open the valve during the refill stage to see if water flows. If not, the internal refill port or valve is blocked.

When to replace parts: Replace the Marlo refill flow control or brine refill valve if cleaning does not restore proper refill.
