Air Entrapment / Fine Particulate Release
Softened water appears cloudy or milky immediately after installation or resin service

Possible Causes
Air in plumbing after installation, New resin fines flushing, High flow start-up without proper rinse
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Cloudy water from air is generally not harmful, but if you suspect contamination, do not drink until cleared.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Check for air: Fill a clear glass and let it sit. If cloudiness rises from bottom to top and clears, it is air.
- 2. Flush system: Open several cold water faucets and let them run for 10–15 minutes to purge air and resin fines.
- 3. Run extra rinse: Manually initiate a regeneration and allow an extended rinse cycle to fully flush the resin bed.
When to replace parts: If cloudiness persists and appears as particulate matter, inspect and, if necessary, replace the Marlo resin media or add a post-filter cartridge to capture fines.
