Softener display is blank; unit appears completely dead

Safety first: Use caution when working with electrical outlets and transformers. Turn off the breaker if necessary.

Step-by-step checks:

• 1. Check outlet and cord: Ensure the Marlo softener is plugged in and the outlet has power (test with another device).
• 2. Inspect transformer: Verify that the transformer is warm to the touch after being plugged in for a while. If cold and no output, it may be failed.
• 3. Measure transformer output: With a multimeter, check the low-voltage output. Replace if zero or far from rated voltage.
• 4. Check internal fuse: Some Marlo boards have a small fuse. With power disconnected, inspect and replace if blown, using the exact same rating.

When to replace parts: Replace the Marlo low-voltage transformer if it has failed. If power reaches the board but the display remains blank, replace the Marlo control board.
