Possible Causes

Corroded or bridged salt level probes, Disconnected salt sensor harness, Heavy salt bridging around sensor, Failed electronic salt sensor module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before working inside the brine tank or on wiring.

  • Inspect brine tank: Remove the lid and visually check the salt level. If there is a hard crust (salt bridge) above an empty space, the sensor may be reading incorrectly.
  • Break salt bridge: Using a plastic or wooden stick, gently break up any hardened salt crust. Do not use metal tools that could damage the tank.
  • Clean sensor probes: If your Monarch model uses metal probes, carefully wipe them with a damp cloth to remove salt deposits. Ensure they are not bent or touching each other.
  • Check wiring: Trace the sensor cable from the brine tank to the control board. Confirm all connectors are fully seated and free from corrosion.
  • Reset alarm: After cleaning and reconnecting, power the unit back on and follow the manual to clear the E06 alarm. If the error returns, the sensor module may need replacement.
