Possible Causes

Stuck brine safety float in up position, Blocked brine drain preventing draw, Leaking refill valve allowing continuous water into brine tank, Incorrect brine line connection on Monarch valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit. Do not allow water to overflow near electrical outlets. Use towels or a wet vacuum to manage any spill.

  • Check water level: Open the brine tank lid and assess the water height. If near the top, bail out excess water with a jug or use a wet vacuum to bring it down to normal level.
  • Inspect safety float: In the brine well (inner tube), locate the float assembly. Gently move it up and down; it should travel freely. Clean any salt sludge or debris that may be jamming it.
  • Verify brine line routing: Ensure the brine line is connected to the correct port on the Monarch valve and that there are no leaks at the fittings.
  • Check for continuous refill: With the unit powered and in service mode, listen for water entering the brine tank. If water flows constantly, the refill valve or internal seal pack may be leaking and will need replacement.
  • Run a regeneration: After clearing the fault, run a manual regeneration and monitor the brine draw and refill stages to confirm normal operation.
