Possible Causes

Power surge or brownout damaging PCB, Corrupted firmware, Loose display or keypad ribbon cable, Moisture ingress into control housing

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the electrical supply before opening the control panel.

  • Power reset: Turn off power for at least 5 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge, then restore power and check if the error clears.
  • Inspect control housing: Remove the control cover and look for signs of moisture, corrosion, or burnt components on the PCB. If moisture is present, dry gently with a hairdryer on a cool setting and allow to air dry fully.
  • Check connections: Reseat all plug-in connectors, including the display ribbon, sensor harnesses, and power input. Ensure there are no bent pins.
  • Surge protection: If the error followed a power cut or lightning storm, consider fitting a surge-protected outlet for future protection.
  • Board replacement: If E10 persists and there is no visible wiring fault, the control PCB will likely need replacement with the correct Monarch part. This is often best done by an authorised technician.
