Possible Causes
Blocked inlet strainer, Fouled resin bed with iron or debris, Undersized softener for flow demand, Partially closed isolation valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Be cautious when opening and closing isolation valves to avoid water hammer.
- Bypass test: Temporarily place the Monarch softener in bypass. If pressure improves, the restriction is within the softener.
- Check isolation valves: Confirm inlet and outlet valves are fully open.
- Clean inlet strainer: Remove and clean the inlet filter screen as described in the E01 procedure.
- Backwash resin: Run a manual regeneration to backwash the resin bed and flush out fines. If pressure remains low, the resin may be fouled and require replacement.
