Possible Causes

Valve motor cannot complete cycle, Position switch not detecting cam position, Control program error, Mechanical obstruction in valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and isolate water if necessary to prevent continuous drain flow.

  • Power reset: Turn off power for several minutes, then restore and see if the valve re-homes to service.
  • Inspect valve movement: Remove the cover and observe the cam and motor when attempting to move between cycles. If they stall, check for obstructions.
  • Check position switch: Ensure the microswitch or encoder that senses valve position is correctly aligned and connected.
  • Manual advance: Some Monarch valves allow manual rotation of the cam to move to service position. Use this only as a temporary measure and schedule a full repair.
