Possible Causes
Perished tank O-ring, Cracked resin vessel neck, Over-tightened or cross-threaded valve, Stress from misaligned plumbing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and close inlet and outlet valves. Depressurise by opening a downstream tap.
- Dry and inspect: Wipe the area around the valve and tank neck dry, then observe where water reappears.
- Check plumbing alignment: Ensure the inlet and outlet pipes are not putting sideways stress on the valve. Support pipework if necessary.
- Reseat valve head: If safe to do so, remove the valve head from the resin tank, inspect the O-ring for damage, and replace with a Monarch-compatible seal. Clean the tank neck before refitting.
- Inspect tank neck: If cracks or splits are visible, the resin vessel must be replaced; do not attempt to repair a cracked pressure vessel.
