Softener display is on but segments are missing or unreadable; programming is difficult.

Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel.

• Inspect display: Remove the control panel and check the LCD display for cracks or moisture.
• Check ribbon cable: Ensure the display ribbon cable is fully seated and not damaged. Reseat it carefully.
• Test after reseating: Restore power and see if missing segments return. If not, the display or driver is likely failed.
• Replace control panel assembly: On most Morton models, the display is integrated with the control board. Replace the control panel / electronic control board assembly.
