- Check regeneration mode: Confirm whether the unit is set to time-clock or demand-initiated mode. In demand mode, the unit regenerates based on water usage, not strictly at a fixed time.
- Verify regeneration time: Ensure the regeneration start time is set to a valid hour (often 2:00 AM) and not disabled.
- Monitor for power loss: If frequent power outages occur and the unit lacks sufficient backup, the clock may reset. Consider using an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) or ensure the outlet is stable.
- Control board replacement: If programming is correct and manual regen works, but automatic regen never occurs, the electronic control board timer circuit may be defective and require replacement.
