Softener will not start a regeneration manually; pressing the REGEN button has no effect and no error code is shown.

Safety first: Unplug the unit before opening the control panel.

• Check for control lock: Some Morton models have a control lock or child lock feature. Follow the user manual to unlock (often by holding specific buttons for several seconds).
• Test other buttons: If other buttons respond but REGEN does not, the keypad membrane may be partially failed.
• Inspect keypad and ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and check the keypad area and ribbon cable for damage or corrosion. Reseat the cable.
• Replace control panel assembly: If the REGEN button remains nonfunctional, replace the control panel / keypad assembly as a unit.
