Possible Causes
Cracked brine tank, Loose brine well cap, Leaking brine line fitting, Overflow fitting or hose disconnected
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and place it in bypass. Wear gloves when handling brine.
- Locate leak: Dry the outside of the brine tank and observe during refill. Check around the brine well, overflow fitting, and bottom seams.
- Inspect brine well and fittings: Ensure the brine well cap is secure and that the brine valve assembly is properly seated. Tighten or reseat as needed.
- Check overflow fitting: Verify the overflow elbow and hose are intact and routed to a drain. Replace cracked fittings or reconnect loose hoses.
- Examine tank for cracks: Look for visible cracks in the brine tank walls or bottom. A cracked tank usually requires replacement of the brine tank.
- Test after repair: Refill the brine tank with water and observe for leaks before adding salt.
