Possible Causes

Leaking brine valve, Stuck safety float, Incorrect refill time setting, Cracked brine line allowing siphon

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Place the softener in bypass and unplug it to stop further filling. Clean up any spilled water to prevent slips.

  • Inspect safety float: Open the brine well and lift the float. It should move freely and shut off water when raised. Clean any salt buildup and ensure the float rod is straight.
  • Check brine valve: With the unit idle, observe whether water continues to trickle into the brine tank. If so, the brine valve is leaking and should be cleaned or replaced.
  • Review refill time: In the installer menu, verify the brine refill time is set according to the resin capacity and salt dosage recommended by Nobel. Reduce if excessively long.
  • Inspect brine line: Look for cracks or loose fittings that could allow siphoning or uncontrolled flow. Replace damaged tubing.
