Display shows E2 and the unit stops mid‑regeneration

Safety first: Disconnect power before opening the control head. Wear gloves when working around salt and brine.

• Check brine level: Remove the lid from the Nobel brine tank. The water level should typically be a few inches above the grid plate (if equipped) during brine make. If the tank is completely dry, the brine fill may be blocked.
• Inspect brine line: Follow the small plastic brine tube from the control valve to the brine well inside the salt tank. Ensure it is not kinked or pinched. Reseat both push‑fit connectors firmly.
• Clean brine injector/nozzle: On most Nobel control valves, the brine injector (nozzle/venturi) is located under a small cover on the valve body. Shut off water, relieve pressure, remove the cover screws, and pull out the injector and screen. Soak them in warm water and gently clean out any salt or iron deposits with a soft brush. Reassemble in the same orientation.
• Check brine valve movement: With power restored, initiate a manual regeneration and observe the brine draw/fill stages. Listen for the brine valve clicking. If it does not move or you hear grinding, the brine valve assembly may be stuck and require replacement.
• Clear error: After cleaning, cancel the regeneration, power‑cycle the unit, and restart a manual regeneration. If E2 does not reappear, allow the cycle to complete.

If E2 persists, the brine valve solenoid or the control valve assembly may be defective and should be replaced.
