Regeneration Program / Parameter Error
E8 error and the unit skips or aborts regeneration cycles

Possible Causes
Incorrect hardness or capacity settings, Corrupted program data, Installer menu misconfigured, Power interruption during programming
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No internal electrical work is required for this procedure, but do not open the control housing while powered if you are not qualified.
- Enter installer menu: Refer to your Nobel softener manual to access the installer or advanced settings menu (often by holding two buttons simultaneously for several seconds).
- Verify key parameters: Check and correct the following: raw water hardness, resin capacity, regeneration time, regeneration type (metered/time‑clock), and salt dosage. Use values recommended in the Nobel documentation.
- Restore factory defaults: If available, select the option to restore factory settings, then re‑enter your site‑specific parameters. This can clear corrupted data.
- Save and exit: Confirm all changes and exit the menu. The control should reboot or return to the main screen without E8.
- Test regeneration: Manually initiate a regeneration and observe that each stage (backwash, brine draw, rinse, refill) proceeds without interruption.
If E8 reappears after correct programming, the control board memory may be failing and the board should be replaced.
