Possible Causes
Incorrect meter type selected in settings, Flow sensor mis‑wired, Wrong flow meter installed, Internal meter calibration fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before changing wiring or meter connections.
- Confirm meter type: In the installer menu, verify that the selected meter type (e.g., turbine, paddle, Hall‑effect) matches the actual flow meter installed on your Nobel softener. Adjust if necessary and save.
- Check wiring orientation: Ensure the flow meter cable is connected to the correct terminals on the control board. Some models have multiple sensor inputs; refer to the wiring diagram on the control cover.
- Verify flow direction: Confirm the flow meter body is installed in the correct direction (arrow on housing pointing from inlet to outlet). Reverse it if installed backwards.
- Test signal: With power on and a tap running, gently wiggle the flow meter cable. If the display intermittently shows flow, the cable or connector is faulty and should be replaced.
If E9 persists with correct configuration and wiring, replace the flow meter with the specified Nobel replacement part.
