Softener display works but buttons do not respond or respond intermittently

Safety first: Unplug the unit before opening the control panel.

• Inspect keypad surface: Check for signs of water ingress or cleaning fluid residue. Dry the surface and avoid spraying cleaners directly on the panel.
• Check ribbon cable: Remove the cover and reseat the ribbon cable between the keypad/display and the main board.
• Dry moisture: If condensation is present inside the housing, dry gently with a hair dryer on low heat and improve ventilation around the unit.
• Test buttons: After reassembly, plug in and test each button. If some remain unresponsive, the keypad assembly may need replacement.
