Possible Causes
Failed control board memory, Internal capacitor or battery failure, Frequent power interruptions, Voltage spikes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the control cover.
- 1. Check power source: Verify the outlet has stable 120V AC (or local standard) and is not controlled by a wall switch or timer. Move the plug to a dedicated, unswitched outlet.
- 2. Reset and reprogram: Perform a factory reset if available in the installer menu. Re-enter hardness, capacity, and time-of-day settings. Observe if Err07 returns after a few hours.
- 3. Inspect board for damage: Look for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or corrosion on the control board.
- 4. Surge protection: If your area has unstable power, install a small surge protector between the outlet and the softener.
- 5. Replace control board: If the unit continues to lose time or display Err07 after stable power is confirmed, replace the electronic control board, which contains the memory and backup circuitry.
