Possible Causes
Stuck brine tank float, Blocked brine drain, Faulty salt level sensor, Control misreading sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and place it in bypass. Be prepared for possible brine spillage; protect nearby flooring.
- 1. Inspect brine level: Remove the brine tank cover and check the water level. If excessively high, the float or drain may be at fault.
- 2. Check safety float: Remove the brine well cover and verify the float moves freely up and down. Clean off salt buildup and ensure the air check at the bottom is not jammed.
- 3. Verify brine drain line: Ensure the brine drain hose is not kinked, blocked, or run uphill excessively. Clear any obstructions and secure the hose properly.
- 4. Clean or replace sensor: If equipped with a high-level sensor, clean it and check wiring. Replace the salt level sensor if it continues to misread.
- 5. Reset and test: Restore power, clear the error, and run a manual regeneration while monitoring the brine level. If overfill recurs, further valve service may be required.
