Possible Causes
Worn rotor & disc, Damaged seals and spacers, Cracked valve body, Debris preventing proper sealing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off water supply and place the softener in bypass. Unplug the power cord.
- 1. Confirm leak source: Check for water running to drain during service or cross-connection between hard and soft outlets. Listen for water flow at the drain line when the unit should be idle.
- 2. Inspect rotor & disc: Remove the valve cover and take out the rotor & disc. Look for grooves, warping, or foreign material on the sealing surfaces.
- 3. Replace seals/spacers: Install a new seal & spacer kit along with a new rotor & disc kit if wear is evident.
- 4. Check valve body: Inspect the valve body for cracks or distortion, especially around ports and screw bosses. Replace the valve body if damaged.
- 5. Test for leaks: Reassemble, restore water and power, and observe the drain line and outlet hardness. If Err14 returns, further diagnosis of the control board leak detection logic may be needed.
