Err17 on display, communication error between main control and remote display (if equipped)

Safety: Unplug the softener before handling any wiring.

• 1. Inspect cable: Follow the communication cable from the main control to the remote display. Look for cuts, pinches, or abrasion. Replace if damaged.
• 2. Reseat connectors: Disconnect and reconnect the cable at both ends to ensure solid contact.
• 3. Test without remote: Disconnect the remote display entirely and power up the main unit. If Err17 clears, the remote display may be faulty.
• 4. Replace modules: Replace the remote display module if it is determined to be defective. If the error persists even with a known-good remote, replace the electronic control board.
