Possible Causes
Rotor binding due to debris, Worn seals causing drag, Failing motor drawing excessive current, Incorrect voltage supply
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the softener and place it in bypass before working on the valve.
- 1. Check supply voltage: Verify the outlet provides correct voltage and is not fluctuating.
- 2. Inspect rotor & seals: Remove the valve cover and rotor & disc. Clean any debris and inspect seals and spacers for swelling or distortion. Replace the seal & spacer kit if needed.
- 3. Test motor free-run: With the rotor removed, briefly power the motor (following manufacturer safety guidance). If it still struggles or overheats, replace the valve drive motor.
- 4. Reassemble and test: Reinstall components, restore power and water, and initiate a manual regeneration to confirm smooth operation.
