Softener appears to regenerate, but drain line is dry

Safety: Unplug the unit and place it in bypass before disconnecting the drain line.

• 1. Inspect drain hose: Check for kinks, clogs, or ice (in cold climates). Clear or thaw as needed.
• 2. Clean drain flow control: Remove the drain line fitting and clean the drain flow control orifice of debris.
• 3. Test valve operation: During a manual regeneration, listen for valve movement when entering backwash and rinse. If no movement, inspect the valve drive motor and gears.
• 4. Re-route drain: Ensure the drain line has proper slope and is not submerged in standing water, which can cause backpressure.
