Automatic Regeneration Failure
Softener will not start regeneration automatically at scheduled time

Possible Causes
Incorrect time-of-day setting, Regeneration time set to OFF, Control board timer failure, Power interruptions resetting clock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal electrical work should be done with the unit plugged in. Unplug before removing covers.
- 1. Check time and schedule: Verify the current time-of-day is set correctly and the regeneration time is enabled (not set to OFF).
- 2. Confirm metered vs. timed mode: Ensure the control is programmed for the correct regeneration mode (demand-initiated vs. time clock) per your usage.
- 3. Check for power loss: If the clock frequently resets, move the plug to a stable outlet and consider a small UPS or surge protector.
- 4. Manual test: Start a manual regeneration. If it runs correctly, but never starts automatically, the electronic control board timer circuit may be failing and require replacement.
