Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Shut off water and relieve pressure before disconnecting plumbing or opening the valve.
- 1. Check external valves: Confirm the outlet shutoff and bypass valves are correctly positioned for service.
- 2. Inspect outlet port: Remove the outlet connection at the control valve and check for debris or scale blocking the port. Clean as needed.
- 3. Test flow in bypass: Place the Rayne bypass in BYPASS mode. If water flow to the house returns, the blockage is inside the softener.
When to call a technician: A collapsed resin bed or plugged distributor requires depressurizing, opening the mineral tank, and often replacing resin and internal distributors—tasks best handled by a professional.
