E16 error and unit reports high salt usage or salt alarm

Safety first: No electrical disassembly is required; keep hands dry when using the control panel.

• 1. Break salt bridges: Use a broom handle or similar tool to gently push down through the salt in the brine tank. If you feel a hollow space, break the bridge so salt contacts the water.
• 2. Check salt sensor: If your Rayne model has a salt level sensor, inspect the probe or float for salt buildup. Clean with warm water and reinstall.
• 3. Review settings: Verify salt dosage and regeneration frequency settings in the control. Adjust to match your water hardness and usage.

When to call a technician: If the sensor continues to report incorrect levels, it may need replacement or the control board may require recalibration.
