Possible Causes
Plugged inlet/outlet screens, Fouled resin bed, Partially closed bypass or shutoff valves, Undersized plumbing connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off water and relieve pressure before removing any fittings.
- 1. Compare in bypass: Place the Rayne bypass in BYPASS. If pressure improves, the restriction is inside the softener.
- 2. Clean inlet/outlet screens: Remove plumbing adapters and rinse any screens or filters at the control valve ports.
- 3. Check valves: Ensure inlet and outlet valves are fully open and the bypass is fully in SERVICE when testing.
When to call a technician: Severe resin fouling or internal valve blockage may require media replacement or valve rebuild.
