Possible Causes

Stuck or scaled flow turbine, Failed flow sensor, Damaged sensor wiring, Debris lodged in meter housing on SoftPro valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and close the inlet and outlet valves before opening any plumbing. Relieve pressure by opening a downstream faucet.

  • 1. Confirm symptom: Run water in the house and check the display. If the flow rate reads zero or erratic values, the flow meter is suspect.
  • 2. Inspect wiring: Remove the control cover and locate the flow sensor connector on the control board. Ensure it is fully seated and the cable to the sensor (usually at the outlet side of the valve) is intact.
  • 3. Remove and clean turbine: With water off and pressure relieved, remove the outlet fitting or flow meter housing from the SoftPro valve head. Carefully extract the turbine/impeller. Rinse away iron, sand, or scale. Ensure it spins freely on its shaft.
  • 4. Reassemble and test: Reinstall the turbine and housing, restore water slowly, check for leaks, and plug the unit back in. Run water and verify that the flow reading is stable and accurate.
  • 5. Replace sensor: If cleaning does not restore proper readings or E05 remains, replace the SoftPro flow meter/turbine sensor assembly with the correct part for your model.
