Possible Causes
Failed optional salt level sensor, Disconnected sensor wiring, Heavy salt bridging blocking sensor, Corroded sensor contacts in brine tank
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before working with any electrical sensor. Wear gloves when handling salt inside the brine tank.
- 1. Check for salt bridge: Open the brine tank lid and push a broom handle or plastic rod straight down into the salt. If you hit a hard crust with empty space underneath, break up the bridge so salt can fall into the water.
- 2. Inspect sensor: If your SoftPro model has a salt level or brine sensor, locate it inside the brine tank or brine well. Clean any salt crust or corrosion from the sensor body and contacts with a damp cloth.
- 3. Verify wiring: Trace the sensor cable back to the control head. Ensure the connector is fully seated and the cable is not damaged.
- 4. Disable sensor (if allowed): Some SoftPro controllers allow disabling the salt sensor in programming. If the sensor is faulty and you cannot replace it immediately, disable it and monitor salt level manually.
- 5. Replace sensor: If E11 persists and wiring is good, replace the SoftPro salt level/brine sensor with the correct part for your model.
