E13
SoftPro
Low Inlet Pressure Fault
SoftPro controller shows E13 and regeneration is locked out due to low inlet pressure.

Possible Causes
Household water pressure below minimum spec, Clogged pre-filter before SoftPro unit, Partially closed upstream shutoff valve, Faulty pressure switch (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use caution when working with pressurized plumbing. Turn off water and relieve pressure before opening any filter housings.
- 1. Check house pressure: Attach a pressure gauge to a nearby hose bib or faucet. Confirm that static pressure meets SoftPro requirements (typically 20–100 psi). If pressure is low, contact your water supplier or well pump technician.
- 2. Inspect pre-filters: If a sediment or carbon filter is installed before the SoftPro softener, shut off water, relieve pressure, and open the filter housing. Replace clogged cartridges and clean the housing.
- 3. Verify shutoff valves: Ensure all upstream valves are fully open. Partially closed valves can cause low pressure during regeneration.
- 4. Reset fault: After restoring adequate pressure, power cycle the unit and clear E13. Start a manual regeneration to confirm normal operation.
- 5. Sensor/board check: If pressure is normal but E13 persists, the pressure sensing circuit (if present) or control board may be faulty and require replacement.
