Possible Causes
Failed keypad membrane, Disconnected keypad ribbon cable, Liquid intrusion into control panel, Shorted buttons
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before opening the control housing. Avoid static discharge to the electronics.
- 1. Inspect for moisture: Remove the control cover and check for signs of water or condensation around the keypad and display. Dry thoroughly and correct any source of leaks (such as brine tank overfill).
- 2. Reseat ribbon cable: Locate the flat ribbon cable connecting the keypad to the control board. Gently unplug and reinsert it, ensuring it is fully seated and straight.
- 3. Test buttons: After reassembly and restoring power, test each button. If some or all remain unresponsive, the keypad membrane is likely defective.
- 4. Replace keypad or front panel: Order the correct SoftPro keypad or front control panel assembly and replace it according to the service instructions.
- 5. Replace control board (if needed): If a new keypad does not resolve E15, the control board's interface circuitry may be damaged and require board replacement.
