Possible Causes
Cracked valve body, Worn O-rings on tank adapter, Loose plumbing fittings, Damaged bypass valve seals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately place the unit in bypass and shut off the main water supply if the leak is severe. Unplug the unit before working on it.
- 1. Identify leak source: Dry the area and observe where water appears: at the tank/valve connection, plumbing fittings, bypass, or valve body.
- 2. Tighten fittings: Gently tighten any threaded or compression fittings on the inlet, outlet, and drain connections. Do not overtighten plastic fittings.
- 3. Inspect tank O-ring: Shut off water, relieve pressure, and remove the SoftPro valve head from the mineral tank. Inspect the large O-ring at the tank opening for cuts or flattening. Replace if damaged and lubricate lightly with silicone grease before reinstalling.
- 4. Check bypass seals: Inspect the SoftPro bypass assembly for cracks or worn seals. Replace the bypass or seal kit if leaking.
- 5. Replace valve body: If the plastic valve body itself is cracked, it must be replaced. Transfer the control components to a new SoftPro valve body or install a complete new head.
