Possible Causes
Cracked brine tank, Loose brine line connection, Leaking brine float assembly, Overflow due to stuck float or blocked overflow drain
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and place it in bypass. Brine is corrosive; wear gloves and eye protection.
- 1. Locate leak: Wipe the outside of the brine tank dry and observe where new moisture appears: at the bottom seam, around the brine well, or at the brine line connection.
- 2. Check brine line fitting: Tighten the brine line nut where it enters the brine tank float assembly. Replace cracked tubing or fittings.
- 3. Inspect float assembly: Remove the brine well cover and lift out the float. Check for cracks in the float body or valve. Replace the SoftPro brine float assembly if leaking.
- 4. Verify overflow drain: If your brine tank has an overflow fitting, ensure the hose is connected and not blocked. Clear any obstruction so excess brine can safely drain.
- 5. Replace brine tank: If the tank itself is cracked or leaking at a seam, it must be replaced. Transfer the float assembly and salt to a new SoftPro brine tank.
