Brine tank overflowing or water on floor around brine tank

Safety: Unplug the unit and close the inlet valve. Brine is corrosive; protect floors and wear gloves.

Steps:

• 1. Remove excess brine: Bail out water to below the normal level.
• 2. Inspect float and safety valve: Remove the brine well cover and ensure the float moves freely and the safety shutoff valve closes when the float is raised. Clean or replace the brine float assembly if it sticks.
• 3. Check refill settings: Verify the Sterling control is not set for an excessively long refill time.
• 4. Inspect overflow and drain: Ensure the overflow fitting and any connected tubing are not blocked.
• 5. Test regeneration: After corrections, run a regeneration and monitor the brine level to ensure it stops at the correct height.
