Display is on but unresponsive or frozen; buttons do not work

Safety: Minimal; avoid opening pressurized plumbing.

Steps:

• 1. Power cycle: Unplug the softener for 2–3 minutes, then plug back in and observe if the display recovers.
• 2. Dry keypad: Wipe any moisture from the keypad and surrounding area.
• 3. Test buttons: If some buttons work and others do not, the keypad assembly may be failing.
• 4. Replace board: If the display remains frozen after power cycling and keypad replacement, replace the main control board.
