How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Shut off water and depressurize before altering plumbing. If unsure, contact a licensed plumber.
Steps:
- 1. Verify flow direction: Check arrows on the Sterling valve body for IN and OUT. Confirm plumbing matches.
- 2. Check bypass orientation: Ensure the bypass valve is installed in the correct direction and in SERVICE position.
- 3. Inspect house tie-ins: Confirm that all fixtures intended to be softened are connected after the softener outlet.
- 4. Correct plumbing: Re-pipe as necessary so that all desired fixtures receive water from the softener outlet.
