Display works but buttons are slow to respond or require very hard presses

Safety: Unplug the softener before removing the front panel.

• Clean surface: Wipe the keypad with a slightly damp cloth to remove grime. Do not use solvents.
• Inspect behind panel: Remove the front panel and check for moisture or corrosion around the keypad contacts. Dry and clean gently.
• Check ribbon cable: Ensure the cable is not partially pulled out or damaged.
• Replace keypad: If response remains poor, install a new Tapworks front control panel or keypad membrane.
