Possible Causes
Jammed rotor disc, Failed or stalled Tapworks valve motor, Broken cam gear, Control board not advancing cycle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: To prevent water waste and possible drain overflow, put the softener into bypass and unplug it.
- Bypass the unit: Turn the Tapworks bypass valve to 'Bypass' to restore water to the house while you troubleshoot.
- Inspect motor and cam: Remove the valve cover and check if the cam is in an intermediate position. Try to manually rotate the cam slightly to see if it is jammed.
- Look for debris: Check around the rotor disc and seals for foreign objects or broken plastic pieces that could block movement.
- Test motor operation: With power restored briefly, command a regeneration and observe whether the motor attempts to turn. If it hums but does not move, replace the motor.
- If the control does not step through stages: The control PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
