Possible Causes
Damaged rotor disc seal, Debris lodged in drain port, Cracked valve body, Mispositioned rotor disc
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: To avoid water waste, put the softener into bypass and unplug it before servicing.
- Confirm continuous drain: Check the drain hose outlet. A small drip is normal after regeneration, but a steady stream indicates a fault.
- Inspect drain line: Ensure the hose is not siphoning water due to incorrect installation height. The end should be above the drain water level.
- Open valve head: Remove the valve cover and inspect the rotor disc and seals for wear, cuts, or debris. Clean all surfaces with clean water.
- Replace seals or rotor disc: If seals are flattened or damaged, install a Tapworks seal and spacer kit or a new rotor disc as specified for your model.
- If the valve body is cracked: Replace the entire Tapworks valve head assembly.
