Tapworks softener uses much more salt than expected

Safety: No special hazards beyond normal handling of salt; wear gloves if skin is sensitive.

• Review settings: Check hardness, capacity, and salt dosage settings. Adjust to match actual water hardness and household usage.
• Check regeneration history: Some Tapworks models show recent regeneration count. If regenerations are occurring daily without need, reduce frequency or correct metering issues.
• Inspect for leaks: Look for continuous flow indicated on the display or at the water meter, which could cause extra regenerations.
• Verify brine draw and refill volumes: Ensure the injector and brine valve are not modified or incorrectly sized. Use only Tapworks‑specified parts.
