Possible Causes

Cracked brine tank, Loose brine line connection, Leaking brine float assembly, Overflow due to stuck float

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit and mop up spilled brine promptly to prevent corrosion and slipping hazards.

  • Locate leak source: Dry the outside of the brine tank and observe where water reappears—at the base, sidewall, or brine well.
  • Check brine line fittings: Tighten hose clamps and push‑fit connectors at the brine well and valve. Replace any cracked fittings.
  • Inspect float assembly: Remove the brine well cover and check the float tube for cracks or loose seals. Replace the Tapworks brine float assembly if it leaks.
  • Examine tank for cracks: If the plastic tank itself is cracked, replacement of the entire brine tank is required.
  • Prevent recurrence: Ensure the float is correctly adjusted to prevent overfilling.
