Display is on but very dim or flickers; sometimes resets randomly.

Safety first: Unplug the unit before touching internal components.

• Check transformer temperature: If the transformer is very hot to the touch, it may be failing. Replace with a Tier1-compatible transformer.
• Inspect connectors: Reseat the low-voltage plug at the control head. Look for corrosion or discoloration.
• Test voltage under load: With a multimeter, measure the transformer output while the unit is running a regeneration. Significant voltage drop indicates a weak transformer.
• Replace suspect parts: Replace the transformer first. If flickering persists, the control board likely has a regulator fault and should be replaced.
