Possible Causes
Kinked or blocked drain hose, Clogged drain flow control (DLFC), Sediment buildup in valve drain port, Frozen drain line in cold climates
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Shut off water and relieve pressure before disconnecting the drain line.
- Inspect drain hose: Follow the hose from the valve to the drain. Straighten any kinks and clear obstructions at the drain connection.
- Check for freezing: In cold climates, ensure the drain line is not exposed to freezing temperatures. Thaw gently if frozen and insulate or reroute.
- Clean DLFC button: Remove the drain flow control (DLFC) from the valve and clean any debris. Verify the orifice is clear.
- Flush valve drain port: With the DLFC removed, briefly open the inlet valve to flush the drain port (direct water to a bucket). Reinstall the DLFC and hose.
